Vicksburg National Military Park
The centerpiece of any visit — a sweeping Civil War battlefield with a 16-mile tour road, more than 1,300 monuments and markers, restored gun emplacements, and the Vicksburg National Cemetery. Vicksburg's most-visited destination, and only a short drive away.
USS Cairo Gunboat & Museum
An ironclad Union gunboat sunk in the Yazoo River in 1862, raised a century later and painstakingly restored. Walk beside the recovered vessel and see the artifacts of daily life aboard, inside the Military Park.
Old Court House Museum
Vicksburg's 1858 landmark — the very building Grant's troops marched toward past our front door in 1863. Today it holds one of the region's richest collections of Civil War and local history.
Church of the Holy Trinity
An Episcopal church serving Vicksburg since 1870. The building was opened in 1880 and consecrated in 1894 after retiring all debt. For over 150 years, Holy Trinity has stood as a visible symbol of faith in Vicksburg.
H.C. Porter Gallery
In the downtown historic district, this gallery showcases the original work of nationally recognized Mississippi artist H.C. Porter — evocative portraits, silk-screen prints, and mixed-media photography of Southern and Delta blues musicians. Expect large-scale original paintings alongside open-edition fine art prints, all set within a restored historic commercial building.
Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum
The birthplace of bottled Coca-Cola, where Joseph Biedenharn first bottled the drink in 1894. A charming downtown stop — restored candy store, vintage memorabilia, and a fountain serving Coca-Cola floats.
Lower Mississippi River Museum
A free riverfront museum on the mighty Mississippi, with an aquarium, hands-on exhibits, and the chance to board the M/V Mississippi IV, a retired Army Corps of Engineers towboat.
Vicksburg Riverfront Murals
A open-air gallery along the floodwall, where dozens of larger-than-life murals tell the story of Vicksburg — its river, its people, and its past — panel by panel. A lovely walk at any time of day.

A colorful riverfront park with whimsical mosaics, a splash fountain, and sweeping views of the Mississippi — a favorite stop for families traveling with little ones.
